Tutorial 1: Preparing Your Before Image

Opening the photo-imaging software and importing a JPEG image from your digital camera, phone, or samples folder.
Resizing the photo to an optimal 1200–1600-pixel width for better performance and easier navigation.
Adjusting brightness and contrast with the Color Levels tool to make shaded areas pop.
Cleaning up the image by removing distractions (e.g., existing wall lights or plants) using the Clone Tool for seamless texture matching and the Define Area + Warp Tools for precise object replacement.

Tutorial 2: Placing Landscape Lighting Fixtures

Open the Object Library and browse hundreds of fixtures.
Double-click to place a fixture, then resize using corner handles and reposition by dragging.
Quickly replace a fixture by dragging a new one over it.
Save time with the Duplicate Tool.
Select several fixtures, then use the Group Tool.
Use Flip Horizontal to correct the up-light direction.
Master the Warp Tool.
Save As JPEG — ready to import into Landscape Lighting Effects for nighttime rendering.

Tutorial 3: Applying Realistic Nighttime Effects

Save as an LND file — keeps all fixtures movable and adjustable.
Export as JPG — this frozen image becomes the canvas for applying effects in the Lighting Effects Program.
Open the separate Landscape Lighting Effects program.
Use the Open Image icon to import your saved JPEG.
Moon icons for applying darkness overlays.
Lighting Tool and Draw Tool (both create light by cutting through darkness).
Adjust Intensity slider and Control Light Width slider: Low values for sharp, focused beams; higher natural spill, halos, and realistic fade-out.

Tutorial 8: Creating Warmer Lighting Colors with the Colorize Tool

The demo focuses on using the Imaging Program to apply a color tint, then integrating it seamlessly into your lighting effects workflow.

Go to Tools > Colorize.Click Choose Color and select a warm hue (e.g., yellow — but any color works; the process is the same).
Adjust the Amount of Color slider: Slide right for more intensity/darker tint; keep it subtle (left side) for natural warmth without overwhelming the image.
Click OK to preview and apply the tint across the entire photo.
Save Your Tinted Image as a JPG to use in the Lighting Effects Program.
